Best way to Add on Payware Aircraft

Featured Replies

I just bought my first add on payware aircraft. The much talked about Kodiak 100 by SimWorks. I have never added any add on's on msfs and this will be my first try at it. I have looked at several video's on this subject but there are all confusing to me because seems like everyone has a different way to install addon's. They talk about a community folder and and this"  %ADDON% which I have no idea that is? I may have spelt that wrong?  I could not find a community folder? .......... Things were sooooooo much easier with FSX  and prior MS flight sims because all you had to drop an addon aircraft in the aircraft folder....easy peasy! Anyway, could someone help give the the easiest steps to take to install addon;'s in MSFS 2020? I have the MSFS Steam edition so that may make a difference for installation? I have the download installer for the Kodiak......I just have to know how to install it 🤪LOL  PS, I also saw where that when X Box partnered with MS on this sim.........that is what made installing add on more complicated.

Steam asked you for a library to install MSFS in, so you should know where that is. Mine is D:\MSFS\community\  If you don't remember where you told Steam to install, then  check the "properties" of the MSFS install and it will tell you where it is installed. The community folder is directly beneath the main MSFS install folder. The Kodiak installer is pointed to the community folder.
