August 30, 20223 yr Moderator Around 10-15 years ago I used to listen in to ATC chatter at Manchester. I live around 3 miles away and with a rooftop antenna hearing commas between Tower and aircraft was easy. One incident sticks in my mind. An AF had been cleared to lineup and to be ready for an immediate departure. He was so slow to comply an inbound was instructed to go-around. The Tower’s said to the AF crew... “that was down to you sir”. I don’t recall his response. Is this type of thing fairly common or was I just “lucky” in hearing it? Ray (Cheshire, England).
