August 28, 20223 yr I was dithering about posting this, because I was uncertain exactly how many people here would ever have played Crysis, or remember the controversy at the time about its demands on people's computer systems. Maybe more might have encountered the fairly recent Cyberpunk game, and it's weighty performance requirements. Given the debates regarding the newest contender for the top cause of hasty systems upgrades, MSFS, I thought some might find this article topical. August 29, 20223 yr I thought it would talk about the ET style crysis.... TBF nothing runs worse than FSX with tones of add-ons on relatively modern system, even P3Dv5, XP11 and MSFS is smoother...

There was once a popular tech site named MadOnion, where many many members used FSX as an makeshift benchmarking tool. Madionion eventually rebranded itself as FutureMark, which makes..... August 29, 20223 yr I still have Crysis, Crysis Warhead, and Crysis Wars. Thank you STEAM. I enjoyed them all, and my (then) system, had no problem. It helps to build your own, makes it much cheaper to stay up to date with your hardware.

I remember trying Crysis at the time, and wondering exactly what sort of God-Machine would eventually be required to play it. I felt the same way trying FSX back in the day, and attempting a flight from JFK.... at fps so slow the sim might as well have been going backwards..... I couldn't imagine a day would ever come when it would actually be fluid: I mean, how many of us spent years chasing FPS, while avidly discussing the merits of various graphics cards for this or that sim? Also, HT on, or HT off? 🙂 And how many of us are purchasing new systems and cards right now, to run MSFS? We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically......
