Thank you for that. That was exactly my issue. All working well now!

Great to hear. It's a pain to work around but worth it once you get it working.

OK, so I spoke too soon.  When I loaded up MSFS today, Tobii wasn't working again, and TrackIR appears in the controller profiles.

I did what we mentioned above, and uninstalled OpenTrack yesterday and all was good.  However, today, I'm back to the original problem.

I have also uninstalled TrackIR and removed the device.  I still have FacetrackNOIR installed for games like DCS and Elite, but it is not running.

Any ideas?

Hi imacken  Did you manage to solve this?  Mine failed to load just once in the middle of about 7 or 8 start-ups of MSFS, so it is working fine in general.

Still not sure why it failed to start in MSFS that single time, so I would like to trace it.
The Tobii was visible in the MSFS controls menu, and the lights were on.
I also had a button set to enable and disable the camera in sim, but nothing was happening.
After a PC reboot and another MSFS startup, it was working fine again.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Does TrackIR show up in devices as well as Tobii?

No, not for me.

OK, well that was my problem.  If you have FacetrackNOIR or Opentrack installed - even if not running - then MSFS sees TrackIR and Tobii under devices and chooses to use TrackIR, so the Tobii device cannot be used.

I see.  Thanks for replying anyway and I am glad you solved it.  Hopefully mine was just a one-off.  It hasn't happened since, and I was playing around at the time trying to get used to the Tobii, so it might be something I did.

Tell me, do you use DCS or Elite D?  If so, can you go to a cockpit, disable Eye Tracking in Game Hub, have head tracking yaw and pitch around 3.0 sensitivity and tell me if - when you stare at an object down in the cockpit or a view left or right 90 degrees with your head steady for 20 seconds or so - you see a bit of jumping around, i.e., not a particularly stable image?
