Moonlight illumination at night

Featured Replies

So I just noticed something while flying just now with a somewhat full moon. My P3Dv5 is dark as heck! I remember in v4.5 the moon would actually illuminate the clouds and ground. Did they do away with this in v5??

Not that I am aware of - moon lights the areas authentically at night for me in P3DV5.3. This is a dark airport at night the light being cast is only from the moon that night!

With a full moon or bright moon the coiled should at least be grey at night not pitch black. In my sim even with a full moon I can’t see the clouds. Something isn’t right. It’s like they did away with that feature but I don’t have my v4.5 anymore so I can’t prove it but I remember it just being different

Moonlight illuminating the clouds and ground was in the sim up until v5.2 I think. I hope in the next P3D version they go back to that; I liked that a lot better than what they have in v5.3.

Have you tried messing with the "Auto-Exposure" setting? I find that night is too dark with it turned off but when I turn the setting on I'm satisfied.
