September 17, 20223 yr My old FSX installation was on a compressed drive. It seemed to have little (if any) effect on performance but saved a shedload of space. Is anyone running msfs from a compressed drive? Would appreciate any comments on whether there is any impact on performance and and give me a rough estimate of how much space could be saved. My 1 TB is 90% full with only an msfs and a lot of addons and I was wondering if I could extend it's life a little as my mobo will only alliw me to run a single m.2 from it meaning I will need a new mobo as well as a bigger m.2 or will have to cull some of my addons. Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
September 17, 20223 yr As another option, you can get a PCI card that has 4 M2 slots on it. Ryzen 7 7800X3D/B650 X AX | 5090 | 32gig | Win10 | Pimax Crystal Light
September 17, 20223 yr The IT person in my company told us to never compress a drive, just get another drive or a larger one.

I presume your MB also has sata ports, get a cheap 2tb sata SSD and move all your community folder addons there, download add on linker from .to and you are good to go.
