September 17, 20223 yr Where can I find the MSFS executable ? The ones located at: C:\Users\Jorge\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe or C:\Users\Jorge\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps Are not working. Thanks
September 17, 20223 yr Commercial Member MS Store version: c:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.27.21.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe Be careful with it, because that folder has special permissions and it's not even a real folder, it's a mounted encrypted virtual disk. If something goes wrong, usually because you play with file permission to access these files, it's very difficult to fix it. You have been warned... September 17, 20223 yr Author Thanks Virtuali I tried and couldnt even open c:\Program Files\WindowsApps, due to some permissions required, and didnt dare to advance further due to your warning. So, what happens if my desktop MSFS launching shortcut is deleted or dissapears ? From where can I replace it ?

Sometime it happens after MSFS crashes. Just press the "Windows" button of the keyboard, type "Microsoft Flight Simulator" in the search, and the App icon should appear, with the menu on the right showing an option to Pin it on the Taskbar, I don't think there's a way to place it on the Desktop, but the Taskbar seems good enough. September 17, 20223 yr I'm away from the computer but this should work. Try pressing "Windows key" + R, then in the Windows Run dialog, type shell:appsfolder You should get an icon to Flight Sim there. Right click on it and choose "Create Shortcut" A more user-friendly way, if you have the Xbox app, is on the list of installed games to the left, hover the mouse pointer over Flight Sim. You'll see a play and options icon appear. There's an option to create a desktop shortcut in the options menu. Cheers. Matt Webb

Move your mouse pointer down to MSFS and click the 3 dots to the right of the 'Play' arrow. There you will find an option to "create desktop shortcut". Delete the one that isn't working first and you'll avoid the new one probably having the number 2 after it. September 18, 20223 yr Another option for you ... Start File Explorer Enter in the search bar 'shell:appsfolder' (no quotes) You get icons for the all the apps Find Microsoft Flight Simulator and right click on it Select the option to Create a Shortcut You get a message about not being able to create one here - do you want one on the desktop Say yes and there you are. You can then modify the shortcut to perhaps run as administrator or move it somewhere else. Regards Trevor
