August 10, 200619 yr For US domestic flights it's liquids and gells that are banned from carry on so far, though electronics may not be far behind, the TSA bulletin is a little vague on international flights. Ian.
August 10, 200619 yr Author We've had several reports of people flying on company business on domestic US flights today not allowed to take their computers, cell phones, blackberry, etc into the cabin.Already had one laptop destroyed by baggage handlers.
August 10, 200619 yr The threat level at all UK airports has been raised to 'critical' following the disruption of a plot to blow up aircraft in mid-flight. Critical threat level means "an attack is expected imminently and indicates an extremely high level of threat to the UK". There have been about 18 arrests overnight.There is major disruption and delay at aiports and passengers are being advised not to travel unless absolutely necessary. Cabin baggage is not permitted and items such as mobile phones, cameras etc also not allowed in the cabin. Only essential liquids such as baby foods) are allowed in the cabin and passengers are being required to taste them. It is reported that plot could involve mixing liquids in-flight to create an explosive.Heathrow is only accepting inbound flights that are already airborne. Brussels airport and Lufthansa have cancelled all inbound flights to the UK. Gerry Howard
