September 29, 20223 yr I have noticed some issues with strange squares appearing in the sea around Brighton Pier in the UK. I decided to disable all my addons and the corrupt / black squares were still present. The last open was to disable photogrammetry in MSFS and then the squares disappeared and the sea was restored. So from my analysis it would appear that the default photogrammetry has some issues in this area, although it would be good if anyone could confirm that they have the same issue?
September 29, 20223 yr I was wondering where to fly this morning and saw your post, so had a little look around Brighton and the pier area. No issues for me here, so not really sure where your problem might lie. I did note that the photogrammetry looked better than I had seen it before though but that could be my imagination or the fact that my internet and MS servers are running fairly fast today. Could be also that I have enabled a rolling cache. I hadn't noticed that the photogrammetry extended into Shoreham either. Perhaps you might try deleting your cache if you use one or try setting one if you don't. Edit: I've just repeated the flight a few more yards offshore and I am now seeing those black squares. Come to think of it, I've seen them since the Brighton photoscenery was introduced, so I guess it's something to do with that. It is odd that only se them from certain angles though. Anyway, it's not your system or setup, so what you have is what MS are providing us with. September 29, 20223 yr EGKA is my local and I'm often flying around the Brighton area, along with regular world flights I have noticed black squares (or the edges of them at least) mainly in the sea and they're completely random. I've always thought it's just the bing data being slow to load from the servers, so in essence there's nothing I've seen particularly in this area only something I've noticed throughout my flying time.
