I currently use the CH Flightstick Pro joystick to fly my PMDG planes in P3Dv4.5HF2. The joystick is excellent for handling the plane, but there is one issue that annoys me. The throttle wheel (which can work really well) has a habit of "sticking" at times. Too many times if I am being honest. This has happened with all three joysticks of this type that I have used. So, I am looking for a possible alternative for a throttle. The obvious choice (since I fly the PMDG 737 almost exclusively now) would be the Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Throttle Quadrant, which also has the added benefit of a few other features that I could use (like the flaps). However, the throttle would need to be precise (and we are talking tenths of one per cent here, for subtle control when taxiing), and also not be prone to sticking!!

Can anyone provide me with any feedback regarding this controller?

Hi Christopher, I've been using the Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Throttle Quadrant for the last 7 months in replacement for a Logitech Throttle Quadrant and I am quite impressed by the precision of the axis, and how smooth it is to move the throttle. I fly mostly the PMDG B737 and the TCA Boeing Throttle Quadrant serves me well in both P3Dv5 and MSFS. I can easily adjust the power to the exact value I want.

One thing to consider is that there are only 3 axis on this quadrant (By default, Speedbrake, Throttle, Flaps). This means that I control both engines with a single Throttle axis.

If you want separate engine control, you can set one of the two other axis for that (loosing either Speedbrakes or Flaps), or you can buy 2 quadrants and set them up to your taste. For myself, I am OK with a single Throttle axis for both engines.

Best regards,

I don't own a Thrustmaster Throttle Quadrant, but your CH stick uses potentiometers that can foul and then read poorly... no doubt that's what is causing your "sticking".  The Thrustmaster Throttle Quadrants use a Hall Effect sensor that is superior to any potentiometer.  They're advertised as 16 bit HE sensor, and that would be much more precise than what you're used to on the CH stick.
