Heron Magic

A very enjoyable ride, somewhat leisurely however. (Climb at 90 kts Cruise at 130 kts) Flight Replicas Heron (DH114) P3DV5.3 Unreleased livery for the Airlines of Tasmania Heron (The reason is that Tassie Airlines Herons were all Lycoming powered or conversions known as Riley Herons)

Beautiful shot of the old Heron 🙂

Thanks - the Flight Replica Heron is a very fine model indeed. Both the fixed gear and retractable versions. I only run P3DV5 and have had no problems with any of the FR in that sim even though it was all originally FSX.

Done a few other Pacific Region repaints as well - might release them if any body is interested enough. I will post some screenshots in a new thread!

A wonderful image of this fine old plane.

That is a great livery too and I didn't realise they flew the Riley Heron!

Terrific shot.  Martyn, aka @VH-KDK will love this one.

Thanks Jack, it is good that we can keep these old planes flying in the sim. I am getting the urge to crank up P3D and fly some of my old favourites again. Not enough hours in the day unfortunately.

Yes just about everybody in OZ moved across to Riley Herons because of the maintenance issues - Lycoming engines plenty of parts and just as good. Fiji Airways or Air Pacific kept theirs as Gypsy Queens until they got rid of them - they were also converted to Lycoming;s back in Australia. Flew with an ex Airlines of Tasmania Heron pilot he reckoned they were his favourite aeroplane and handled some atrocious southern weather with aplomb. They were a genuine mini airliner complete with a loo in the rear.
