Massive fps drop with popout screen

Featured Replies

Hey,

Quick question for those using popout screen on msfs20.

I used to pop out mfd and pfd without any performance impact, but since the last update, if i popout an instrument i have a massive fps drop which make the game unplayable.

Is this a knowed issue and is there any solution ?

Makes me mad as i just finished my homecockpit and cant even enjoy it anymore.

Ps: tried dx12 and 11 nothing changed and i have a high end pc

Thanks

I just started using MSFS Pop Out Manager, along with Spacedesk. I use a iPad for my pop out gauges and have no problem, I was pleasantly surprised. No FPS loss at all, no stuttering. I have to tell you though, this is on a brand new PC build.

I see a 2-4 fps drop with 2 WT G1000 popouts on a touch screen using AirManager with the Knobster to control switches and dials.

This is in the C510 U11 Beta. U10 was about the same. Back a few updates a go there was a significant drop of 10-12 fps, but for me at least it is much better now.

It is pretty much the same popping out the G530 and 430.

So I see a slight drop but not bad.

So i found the solution (at least for me)

In case it can help.

The only thing i changed was to limit the fps at 30 with the nvidia panel, that was the problem, as soon as i desable this, the fps was back to à smooth 45fps 🙂

simple as that 🙂

If you popout to second monitor try putting the second monitor to your on board Gpu if you have one.

I have main sim on my Rtx 3070 and two other monitors for Pfd and Eicas on my onboard Gpu.

Also Dx12 is better with multiple monitor setup!

Also try Vsync settings to off or for me Vsync in game off and in control panel Nvidia to fast made Sim stutterfree
