WT G1000NXi

Hi all,

I've been away from the hobby for about 4 months.   I don't know if it's due to an update or SU that's occurred, but I now cannot get the VNAV vertical track to display on the G1000NXi's PFD.

I have a valid flight plan and VNAV is shown as being set up correctly on the FPL page.  A TOD is shown on the map on the MFD, and previously the vertical track would then appear on the PFD, when I was within a few miles of the TOD. (At which point I could engage 'VNAV' on the AP).

Now, when I reach the TOD it disappears from the map, and I get no vertical track on the PFD.   (I can confirm that the altitude set in the PFD FD/AP has been reduced to match the next VNAV waypoint).

Has something changed?  Is there a parameter that's been added that I may be missing?

Any help of guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not at home,but I know the VNAV works perfectly as you describe it. In your picture, I can't read if there is, in the PFD, a "VPTH" indicated at the right of "3150ft" because of the red arrow you've drawn. If there is nothing, I think your VNAV mode is not engaged.

My assumption was you had to hit the VNAV button to get VPTH in the PFD and once it locks on it will audibly say "vertical track".

Also, the G1000NXi is part of the base game now. Check content manager and remove the G1000NXi that you downloaded from the marketplace. Maybe some conflict there having both?

I did note that there are two different entries for the NXi now in my Content Manager, and searched and found some posts about this;  apparantly, one is fixed and used for the default G1000 aircraft, and the other is for addon aircraft, that 'call' the NXi.     I'll check versions are up to date etc.

EDIT :   solved!

I should have known, given how amazing WT are, that this was related more to features than a bug... so in previous versions, the vertical track would appear on the PFD prior to TOD.... but this has now been enhanced to match the real unit;  the vertical track appears after both TOD is reached and VNAV is selected.
