Right click in VR = CTD

This started suddenly, I know I didn't have this problem before. In 2D right click works normally - pans the view. In VR, as soon as I press right mouse button, usually accidentally, XP11 CTD instantly. No valuable info shown in Log.
So before I start disabling all the plugins and scripts, which is a painful process simply because you must start adding plugins one by one.

Anyone encountered this issue so far and have any idea what could be the issue?

Thank you in advance.

Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.

right clicking without the VR mouse active does nothing for me, with it active pops up the XP menu

you can disable plugins directly from plugin admin via the check boxes - I'd start there unchecking them all first.

I have the mouse cursor disabled in VR, and yet right clicking will CTD XP11, although in Toliss A319. Will check with other aircraft.

Thanks for a suggestion. Plugin admin is a very useful tool.

you can bind a key to toggle it, i dont have hand controllers so use it for rare things i dont have hardware bound to.

Yes, I'm aware. It's just that mouse cursor kills fps in VR, it's confirmed by many. I have 1080ti card, so every frame counts. I have Quest 2, and hand controllers works perfectly in XP11, no need for a mouse.

thats why I only have it on when i need to interact with something in the cockpit i dont have bound to hardware - like most of the buttons and switches in the 744.

I can't even use my mouse in VR in XP12.  I do have mouse operation checked.

XP12 is still a buggy mess. I still use XP11 as my main sim. It's miles ahead of XP12 in terms of addons and freedom. There is absolutely no need to rush using XP12 until we can use every single addon from XP11, and get a stable sim.

On the one hand, yep, quite a few issues still to fix.

otoh, the F-14 tomcat in VR on 12 is currently not just my favourite plane but I think my favorite aircraft in a flight sim ever (ace combat 7 can now take a back seat permanently). Perfect cockpit for VR, the new HUD is glorious, rapid when you want, handles lovely when slow, great for exploring everything XP has to offer from the cockpit - which is a lot.

I might try that, but when I get new GPU. My 1080ti is struggling pretty much with XP12, especially in VR. Not sure I can even reach stable 36fps for smooth motion reprojection in Quest 2.
I mean no wonder, I get 50-60fps in completely vanilla XP12, runway 16R at KSLC (my test location), while in XP11, for example in Toliss A319 and A TON of AI aircraft at gates (probably over 40) and at least 20-30 airplanes flying around airport, I see usually 80+ fps.
After couple of tests the conclusion is that new volumetric clouds eats a lot of fps. Clear weather scenario produces at least 15-20fps more in XP12, but again, still lower than XP11.

Yeah, they are heavy on the GPU, the more GPU horsepower the better.

OTOH, I only ever flew XP11 in clear skys due to the issues, so, no looking back for me there, intermediate clouds setting seems to be doing OK on my 3070

My comparator/one to beat has been

Since like 2019....

XP12 finally delivers more (sooo much moooorre!) at equal or better quality in every aspect.

Did you get the right click CTD fixed?

Why the issues with clear skies? Never heard of that one before.

Still didn't fixed right click, not much free time in the last 48hrs. Just did one short 30 minutes flight to test other things and tried to not touch the right mouse button. 🙂

issues with the clouds - running all on the CPU and easily halving the framerate, no interaction with the wind, randomly teleporting/instachange, looking like garbage, enhanced skyscapes somewhat alleviated that right towards the end of XP11s life, but there is an unresolved issue in XP11 piping its cloud data into view which still causes very noticeable stutters.

nothing worse simulating a helicopter landing hiting a 150ms stutter just when you need to be accurate with your control inputs to the milisecond.

So I only ever flew clear skies.

XP12, OTOH, offers

which of course I did in VR on those settings (as in landed in VR, then exited, and went into replay without changing settings)...
