Any luck w/ specific NV driver for the GUI error shutdown?

Featured Replies

I thought my last driver update solved this but I'm getting these show stopper GPU error alerts in DX12.  Anyone eliminated these in DX12 mode by a new NV driver or other solution?  DX12 is a little better overall so prefer that but not fun to go thru 40 minutes of set up and take off then die.

I have had them in DX11 as well Noel, so I think it may just be coincidental.  Frustrating I know.

But I am now using the latest Nvidia driver, always the latest MSFS beta and switching between DX11 and 12 occasionally, and I have not had one for about 3 or 4 weeks now - certainly since the 40th anniversary edition.

I am beginning to wonder if it is scenery or location related, as I had a couple just north of London (but strangely not over the city itself), and since then I have changed where I fly and they seem to have stopped.  I have been flying in California, Australian east coast, and all over New Zealand recently on top of the glider activities mainly in Italy, and I have not had one GPU error.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

That is nice to know might as well stick w/ DX12 then.  You've had some good behavior for a month so that is worth trying w/ the new driver.  Maybe SU12 will address this issue which is pretty big!

Thanks!

Yes I agree. I am beginning to think it is linked to a certain set of circumstances that are not just driver related.  A lot of people have had them, and they appear to happen in spates.

I need to update my C414 as ther is another patch out, but I will take it back up over north London again tonight as the sun sets and night lighting comes on, as that set of circumstances brought the GPU error up twice on consecutive flights. Normally after about 40 minutes as you say.  That was late October/early November - not tried that flight since.

I'm using DX12 and had this error only once. It was yesterday after I assigned a keyboard key (right shift) to toggle the Ground Power Unit. When I pressed the right shift the sim froze with that GPU error. I then assigned it to another key and no more error. Go figure.
