Warm weather in December

Featured Replies

Anguilla to Guadeloupe:  Time for some warm weather in December in the Eastern Caribbean!

We start at Wallblake – TQPF and work our way south, via Saint Maarten, St. Kitts, and Guadeloupe, ending at  Les Saintes – TFFC.

Considering the short airstrip at Saba enroute, I will fly my RV14, but any aircraft cruising at 180 knots should be suitable.

Cheers Bert. I've packed all the sceneries together for convenience. A scenery ready meal so to speak. I've sent emails to regulars.

The email's' will be from 'Doorman' (me in a previous life)

My RV14 does not like this flightplan as published.. the startup causes various problems in my airplane.. Does anyone have an idea as to what might be going on?

Addendum: even though this scenery received good ratings.. to me it looks a bit like botched cosmetic surgery, so I have disabled it.  The default is just fine IMHO..  It is flyable though, so either way is OK for the flight.

Is there a known problem with complex airport names in flight plans?  I have narrowed it down to TNCS-TNCE which when removed, fixes the G3X. These airports both have long names with punctuation marks. Both appear guilty...

Bert, if the RV-14 pilot is using the TDS GTN750Xi there might be another way to proceed. Start the RV-14 at TQPF without a MSFS *.pln flightplan. Then load a *.gfp flightplan into the TDS GTNXi and use that for your navigation – as you probably would in any case.

This simple alternative does not work for pilots needing the G3X for navigation. Or, for that matter, for those using the PMS GTN750. For these pilots, the alternative MFS *.pln will surely be a great boon.

Otherwise, the good news is that this awful glitch seems limited to the G3X. Tests using the MFS *.pln flightplan in other aircraft with the G1000, WT GNS, and TDS GTN750Xi all pass with flying colors.
