For the record. IMHO.

This "feature" makes me die inside. Of every really bad idea everyone ever came up with for flight sim, this one absolutely ranks among the worst of them for me.

Not only does it look absolutely ridiculous. but it completely spoils the fun of discovering them on your own, whoever authorised dev time on this should lose their job.

I'd lay money it it being the same person that signed off on the "black screen off death" when you crash, that is soooooo bad I dont think I have seen anyone with crashing enabled. Because like, what you want to do everytime there is a crash is forget about it and move on to the next flight..

/end rant & rage.

Probably for the kids .

The thing I am most proud of/has been the most heart warming with the 744 is at least two fathers getting into the hard details with their teenage sons.

So not that either.

Needs a second monitor or PC, but is really useful. My favourite tool to cheat a bit when flying VFR.

I think MSFS has a feature where you can pin landmarks and airports in the distance so you can get an idea of where you need to be more exactly. Does X plane 11 have that feature?

I saw something like that a few weeks ago, and found it for you, it's a little plugin called xPlaces. I did not try it, because I don't see the interest, but everyone is allowed to enjoy their hobby the way the like. All the other options mentioned by others above are all good and wont brake immersion as much, you should give them a try as well.

And way to much unnecessary "noise" for a simple question!

(hope it was OK to add the link to the plugin)
