December 27, 20223 yr Hi, I recently bought the Razer Blackshark Pro headset which probably has the world's worst microphone, but that's another topic. The problem is that P2ATC doesn't hear me, despite the microphone working in all other apps like Teams, games etc. If I setup a stand-alone mic in Windows, this one works ok, but not the Blackshark one. Am I missing something in P2ATC? I run grammar help and pressed Practice and got the following results: Active Default Imput Device: Microphone (Razer BlackShark V2 Pro) Reco Enginge Name: MS-1033-80-DESK Reco Engine Description: Microsoft Speech Recognizer 8.0 for Windows (English - US) Language: English (United States) Grammar: StaticGrammar Grammar Loaded: True Everything should be ok, no? But no audio gets picked up inside P2ATC with this mic. In other apps, the same mic does work.
December 27, 20223 yr Did you enable access for P2A ?https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/turn-on-app-permissions-for-your-microphone-in-windows-10-94991183-f69d-b4cf-4679-c98ca45f577a

It also shows me the current time when I press the PTT button.
December 27, 20223 yr Do you have the Razer Synapse software installed? I had to uninstall Synapse to get P2ATC to work with my Razer headset. I have synapse installed. I will try without it. Did you get the mic monitoring working without synapse, so you could hear yourself talking?
December 28, 20223 yr Sorry, I have never tried to use mic monitoring so I don’t know if it works without the Synapse software. Brian Intel 12700K, EVGA 3080ti, Asus ROG STRIX z690-E, 32 GB G-Skill DDR5 6000, 2TB WD Black SN850, 2TB WD Black SN850X, Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360, HP Reverb G2 v2
December 28, 20223 yr Commercial Member Monitoring your own mic can introduce distortion that will cause P2A to not be able to recognize what you say. I would recommend not using that feature. Dave

However I am relying on that feature as the earcups are pretty sound proof and I can't hear myself talking without it which makes it even harder to get P2ATC to understand me. And it was indeed the Razer Synapse software that somehow blocked the voice in P2ATC only. By removing that stupid software, everything worked as expected. However that also means, that the mic monitoring/sidetone feature will not work anymore. Sigh, I probably have to get a different headphone/mic set in the feature.
