I wondered that as well.  It's just someone typing words in response to someone else; there's no difference in effort or action required between responding on discord vs a forum.  The forum just remains easier to read.

for  starters  now  most of  the  addons  devs  are now  on  discord

Strange as I find the Polar opposite in that here there are many users far more knowledgeable and that take the time to post thorough explanations here whereas  Discord channels attract the 100 character or less  type replies and an abundance of meme posting toxic teens (ala the official msfs discord), Some are great for organising group flights and general socialising but as knowledge bases not so much

I have seen in the past questions regarding the Fenix, which I fly almost all of the time, on this forum, followed by a few answers most of them incorrect.  Same questions posted on Fenix Discord, are answered correctly , and very quickly,

Yes but you're comparing a user forum with tech support.  If you compare a tech support forum with a tech support discord...

A dedicated to one aircraft Discord is likely to get a more focused response of course, On the other hand I've only ever tried using the Milviz Discord for support and its Rubbish, in that case their support forum is slightly better (though still not good).

Dont even start me on the official MSFS Discord...its a sewer

I agree that Forums are falling out of fashion but I having used Discord extensively in the past 4 years Its no replacement in terms of producing and maintaining a knowledge base

You'll find it difficult, if not futile convincing people whose argument is  "it's better because it is better".

Just an update on FS2Crew, Bryan worked through the issue, for some reason folders were moved and I have no idea why and that caused the issue. It was my fault not the program just to be clear. I did have to reload MSFS but not a problem. FS2crew is working perfectly at this point.

Yes, glad you got it sorted 😉  We're happy to have helped solve your problem.

FYI, I know some of you don't like Discord, but I suggest giving it some time. At first I didn't like it either, but after a while it grows on you.

Unlike traditional support forums, it allows me have direct one on one chats with users directly in real-time.  I find it much more personal than forums.
