LD 767 wiped clean from aircraft selection

Recommended Posts

This is really weird. Just now I planned a flight from KSLC to Honolulu. I have had the Level D 767 installed in FSX-SE for many years. But this time, when I went to the select aircraft menu, it's not there! I checked the root library of FSX and the 767 is still there, in its own folder (Level D simulations) not in the simobjects, but that's the way it has always been. Tried rebooting FSX, but still no sign of the LD 767.

Any ideas where that 767 flew off?

I didn't post this in the Level D forum, because it's  quite dormant.

The Level-D 767 should also be in the Simobjects\Aircraft folder, lest FSX will not show that airplane in the selection. Is it still there?

Make sure you still have all the correct entries in the aircraft.cfg for it to appear in the FSX aircraft selection.

Where is the aircraft.cfg file located?

In the aircraft folder of the LD767.

Problem solved. I tried the old fashioned solution- reinstalling, and the 767 is on the select aircraft menu.

Prior to that, I tried selecting from the missions menu, the Level D tutorial flight. Chose the engines on, ready for takeoff option. The virtual cockpit view revealed all the panels blacked out, with no possibility to turn on any switches. That's when I gave up and reinstalled.
