January 15, 20233 yr Thought I'd see how KORD and the whole Chicago thing went on the new box with full AIG and the LVFR A318. Well pleased to see the A318 arrive, definitely a fave for me. I like's em stubby. All went pretty well, couple of pauses but generally pretty smooth and up in the 45 fps region. Hopefully, after almost a year of faffing around, BT are going to finally get me on to full FTTP (gbit broadband) in a few weeks time so I'm hoping that will smooth out the remaining occasional niggles. Anyway, a few shots around KORD with the stands pretty much occupied courtesy of AIG lots of traffic flying around as well - caught this guy up overhead One of my little plans is to get the F-16 out and do a bit of AI plane chasing around somewhere like KORD or KJFK. See if I can get any decent screenies out of that. Really enjoying all this extra life in the sim. Anyway, time for a ride on the A318. This and the 737-600 are a pair of my faves. The proportions really work for me - I can't stand all the various stretched tubes. So, away we go - Big old site down there, ain't it? Thought I'd head off in a general south east direction. I'll figure out where we're going once I get a bit further along <grin> And then I remembered - "d*mn (thanks, avsim, did somebody get frightened by a dictionary as a small child or something?) - I think I left the bathroom light on at home". No choice, got to go back and check And I haven't got my right glasses with me so I'll have to keep low so's I can see where I'm going Well, a short flight but hey. Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. January 15, 20233 yr Great shots Andy and I agree, I absolutely fell in love with this short plane, the 318 is a real beauty of a jet. And it's "cute." All terrific shots here. Jack Sawyer

I'm kinda surprised you're a fan of this, you being a big fan of old Queenie - you could probably strap a couple of these on the back of a 747 and she'd never even notice. 2 hours ago, pmplayer said: Fine shot buddy, what Cockpit is in use in that A318 ? I really do just have these flights loaded on the runway with the engines all running, and my only interaction is push the throttle, hit the brakes, and pull on the joystick. If I'm feeling really sophisticated I'll set the flaps/trim wheel but other than that I haven't a clue about what goes on in there. January 15, 20233 yr Love those open-ended excursions where you don't know where you're going until the mood strikes you. And proportion-wise I believe the A319 is my cup of tea.

Yep, I quite like the 319 as well (and have the LFVR version), but not quite as much as the 318. Once you get to the 320 I'm losing interest though. Strange really, I guess there's not that much difference, but I just don't get a buzz from the 320 whereas the 318 is a joy to look at for me. January 16, 20233 yr Great shots Andy, as always. I know where you come from, I also have the 737-600 and I like her proportions a lot. For that reason I somehow also like the 747SP, although my all time favorite is still the 747-100/-200 🙂 Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080

I can just about live with the -400 in XP, but I can't abide the -800. A monstrosity in my eyes, and a terrible thing to have done to the noble machine it once was.
