Transition from PC to Xbox

Are you likely to use the laptop regularly as a laptop and take it away with you ? If yes go the laptop -  if not go the ITX route it is way more upgradeable down the track.

DO be aware you can likely build an ITX gaming PC and have enough money left to buy a non gaming laptop for general use (watching Netflix in bed etc) for the cost of a gaming laptop.

I already have this kind of solution, a laptop with a full size 9900K and smaller 2080, Since I am moving all the time, working in different counties for months or years, it's nearly perfect for me, but :

- Air-cooling is not enough for the CPU, if I want constant performance, I had to lower the Vcore

- GPU performance is 30% less than the desktop version and 16Gb of ram on a 4090 seems low, no?

- And the price, for the best model right now, it's more than 5k euros

I am also thinking of finding all the components 3D model and use 3D printing along with carbon fiber forging to create my own case, rugged, so I can transport it without worries with water-cooling for both GPU and CPU

By the way, is it possible to carry a watercooled config on a flight inside the cabin?

Water cooling is going to cause security issues with carry on luggage at airports in some countries. That will apply whether laptop or desktop.

The good part about the Laptop, is that you can unplug it during transport and also use the computer without it. It's just there if you want max performance on your system without throttleling

I run a 'normal' sized pc n a very small bedroom. The small table in the corner has my flightsim setup with all controllers, G2 hmd, semi 5.1 sound set, and monitor. The TV is at the foot end of the bed, connected to the pc for like 15 years now 🙂

Edit; Wired keyboard on the table, wireless kb on the bed.

For me, no need for Xbox.
