February 15, 20233 yr Due to downsizing of our house (and no basement in the new house), my choices are to either give up simming or go Xbox with a TV. Hoping some of you folks that use Xbox can clarify a few things for me as such: Are all the same airliners on the XBox as was PC? Is PMDG 737 fact or fiction for Xbox? Is there AI traffic available, such as FS traffic, FSLTL, or Simple Traffic? Do Honeycomb Yoke and Throttles work on Xbox? Is ATC Chatter available? Thanks in advance.

For the WASM stuff. I think you are out of luck for the AI traffic. As an aside, why not stick the PC near the TV and run it on the TV?
February 15, 20233 yr Your not getting all features of a gaming PC on an XBox. Though by all accounts XBox is OK for MSFS. Better solution is build a mini-ITX gaming PC the size of a shoebox maybe two and connect it to the TV. Cases like the Coolermaster NR200 will take triple slot graphics cards and 280mm AIO's all in a case that is 37cmx18cmx29cm Edited February 15, 20233 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick

Thanks in advance. 1) Not yet and some never will be (Fenix). 2) Simple Traffic was the only one that was available but it had major issues on console so they had to pull it from the marketplace. The others use external apps, so there is no way they will run on XBox. 3) The yoke only works if you have the most recent XPC version and if you also have the required adapter. 4) No. Edited February 15, 20233 yr by petz_e
February 15, 20233 yr Apparently you can hook up the TV to the PC desktop. I haven't tried but some users here say they run in 4K on a TV for a monitor (using the PC desktop version of MSFS). Hide the PC tower. All you have is a keyboard and controllers in front of the couch. I use the XBOX version of MSFS myself. I use a 12" by 30" white shelf bought from building supply store (Lowes). Velcro'd a HOTAS with small keyboard in between. The mouse runs on the same USB dongle as keyboard, only takes one USB jack of the XBOX. I liked the mouse so well, I bought another mouse alone without the keyboard for my PC desktop (on which I run another copy of MSFS). If your PC version of MSFS is purchased from the MS store instead of steam, then all the game and marketplace bought addons are free of charge to move to the Xbox. Keyboard is small but has a full keypad.. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09MF1VYTL/ Edited February 15, 20233 yr by Fielder 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. February 15, 20233 yr I'm stuck on xbox atm until I can finance a new PC and yes that one thing I play the most on the xbox is still MSFS. Visually it's still amazing what they managed to do on the series X but that's kinda where the good ends if you have previously been on PC. Content wise both paid and freeware is very limited but I'm sure you know that, we have 1 "study level" airliner being the A310 and yes it's pretty nice on xbox to have that one at least, we have the AAU1 update now bringing the CJ4 and Citation to great level of realism as well and I've been flying them a lot since but the experience is not without its issues and frustrations. Aircraft with complex (glass) avionics when taking on flights that last 1.5+ hours I very frequently have the avonics screens go black, CTD's or both in that order, usually when approaching an airport, I can only assume it's a memory issue, certain destinations suffer more than others, certain airports suffer more than others too, dunno why. Pyreguee airports never an issue, flytampa airports I don't even bother flying to anymore, not blaming the dev, but I guess they use features that the xbox just can't handle. Sometimes it just happens after a few flights prior as well, I flew from my hometown Cairns YBCS to Innisfail YIFL which is all default scenery, and no addons, not a densely populated area, this in the default 172 with G1000 and that flight not even an hour long still ended up with black screens. Restarting msfs before a flight does also seem to help, I definitely do this when flying jets. The black screen avionics is widely discussed on the official MSFS forums, always been a problem and still is today so I doubt it's a purely sofware issue really. I can fly a tiger moth and if I fly long enough even the tablet and mini GPS go black eventually! So jets I try to limit myself to fairly short flights still and choose my destinations wisely keeping in mind the potential demand it may put on resources and nothing is more frustrating than nearing an airport and get a CTD. Hell I had 2 CTD's today flying the Citation, from Burbank to Oakland, and no add-on airports there. Next patch is meant to bring us WASM, I fear that given the issues so far flying jets that even more complex planes supporting WASM are going to be even worse. So yes I guess PMDG might wanna bring the 737 to xbox but I can see it becoming a can of worms if the stability is what it is currently. Admittedly I'm assuming the ram is the issue on the xbox but I might be wrong, hopefully I am! But I can only imagine the fallout if xbox users start getting black screens and CTD's constantly once the WASM birds land. Sure it's still fun to fly GA planes, lovely experiences there to be had still, bushplanes like the wilga, the old warbirds from the likes of flying iron all perform well but even the more complex ones like the 414 run very well and never crashed on me but they don't have the fancy avionics of course. I use a thrustmaster T1 Hotas which works on xbox, it's not great but better than the controller, your honeycomb won't work. You'd have to buy their xbox compatible products, afaik there is no adaptor. Keyboard and mouse work at least, thank God for that. No traffic addons, even setting it to max will hardly show any anyways so I turn it off all together to save on ram. Only default ATC is available, that one I don't use at all. Bottom line if you play MSFS on PC at an enthusiast level and expect the xbox experience to match you are going to be very dissapointed. Edited February 15, 20233 yr by stefaandk typo
February 15, 20233 yr Another option is to get a gaming laptop with discrete GPU. Not as much bang for your buck as a full PC, but would meet your requirements to minimise space and you can tuck it away somewhere when you need to.
February 15, 20233 yr If you simply must go Xbox I’d strongly suggest getting the turtle beach velocity one flight stick. Flight sim via the Xbox controller feels awful to me. 787 captain. Previously 24 years on 747-400.Technical advisor on PMDG 747 legacy versions QOTS 1 , FS9 and Aerowinx PS1.

February 15, 20233 yr Xbox might work as long as you keep in mind that: As I understand it you can only use addons that are purchased throught the MSFS marketplace. You might need to purchases these again if you've purchased them through other channels previously. Running other software outside the sim, like most traffic addons or Little Navmap is not possible. You can only run hardware that is certified for Xbox. Your current hardware will probably not work As others have pointed out, you could also hook your PC to the TV. To replace your desk you could use a Wheelstand Pro to mount your controllers on. I don't have one myself but I believe it folds in a reasonable compact package.
