February 16, 20233 yr Hi folks: I recently bought a brand new HP Omen 25l with windows 11. I have a boxed set FSX and it keeps hanging up. I've tried a few installations. At first the InstallShield would start running but then hang. Then I tried installing to a different folder other than the default path. Now I can't get the installer to run. I get an error 1607 (unable to install InstallShield Scripting runtime) Can anybody give a non-computer guy some idea of how to get started. I'm very disappointed that these new computers never seem to run older software. Thanks, Bill

February 17, 20233 yr The Steam Edition does not cost much and works great. My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.
February 17, 20233 yr Equally, the Disk Edition works in Windows 11 and if already owned, costs nothing.
