Lags

Featured Replies

Hello

For the past few weeks, my simulator has had significant lags, regardless of the configuration chosen. This mostly happens at a few airports. The game stutters.
I tried everything (direct X12, 11 then balanced DLSS, performance, DLAA, etc...). My MSFS settings are lower than what my nvidia recommends.

I7 10750
512 SSDs
16 GB RAM
RTX 3060 (laptop)
Internet: 80 mbits/s but... latency = 60ms (maybe an explanation?)

Thx

Are you using wifi or ethernet? Ethernet has a much more stable connection.
You mention it happens mostly at airports. Can you name one or two of them? If you have third party airports (or the handcrafted Asobo ones) these can be quite strain on the system, especially if you also have AI traffic on.

First test is to turn traffic off.. and go from there..

Sometimes, as you fly into a more populated area (like New York, London, etc) the sim can load in a lot...I mean...a lot of planes. I usually turn my FSLTL down to 20 IFR and 0 VFR otherwise everything gets too over crowded.

While true, I doubt that is the issue here.. 😉

Bert

I used to have this issue really badly but I'm unsure what single thing actually fixed it for me.

There's a number of tips on youtube that may/or not help. Depends on if you interpret as "placebo effect" or not. These include

- Delete Nvidia shader cache

- Set CPU priority to High (and there's one or two apps that can do this so it stays)
