Hi

I am delighted with Little Nav Map / Simbrief and the integration of downloaded Simbrief flight plans and performance init data into MSFS and some directly into aircraft FMC's, such as the PMDG 737.

But there is a but...

If I am flying from one UK airport to another UK airport, there seems to be a very high proportion of STARs that Simbrief chooses (and which look logical when checked on Little Nav Map) that seem to be not available in MSFS.

Is it a setting I've missed somewhere in Simbrief or MSFS that is creating that incompatibility and allowing STARs to be chosen in Simbrief that MSFS rejects as valid?  Or are there just an awful lot of UK airport STARs missing in MSFS?

I'm losing heart at the number of times I have to mess with the imported plan in the FMC to try to find a STAR that does work and then amend the plan successfully to accept that alternative.

I'm not sure I quite understand what you mean. Messing around in the FMC to find a STAR that works? What doesn't work about it?

Are you using the same AIRAC in the PMDG 737 as the one SimBrief is using? In other words, Have you updated the AIRAC of the 737 with data from Navigraph? The data changes every month.

What MSFS has or has not in its database does not matter for the PMDG 737. It uses Navigraph data, so judging by your problem you did not update your Navigraph data or have none at all.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Ah...that might well be the problem with the PMDG.  Thanks - I'll look into that.

I do have similar issues, though, with other aircraft where the number of Stars available in MSFS in their flight planning screen are noticably fewer than the number of options on Little Nav Map.  When I get a moment I'll try to dig out some actual examples rather than talk in generalities.

Because their Navdata is out of date.

Navigraph subscription is your answer.

And don't forget to update the magdec.bgl as well: https://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids.html
