Telling someone a question they have is "a result of a first world problem" is condescending. If you're not aware of why that is, I'd suggest not using the statement.

You seem to feel guilt for the position you are in and feel the need to justify yourself. I think it's very unhealthy how hardware threads sometimes becomes a dickwaving contest because it puts people off entering the hobby by making it appear you need a $3000 computer to play the simulators well when you really don't. To then be told "if you can't afford... not our problem" is really very disparaging to most readers. The difference between a 3090 and 4090 is very much subject to the rule of diminishing returns in the context of flight simulators as I would expect either to be capable of pushing over 60 fps constantly at the highest of settings and I think that is very smooth in the context of a competitively slow moving flight simulator. Unless one has a gaming monitor and is using something fast paced like a first person shooter or sports game, the difference shouldn't be discernable. Or perhaps VR. Didn't take it as a personal attack. It's perfectly possible to defend what is a perceived albeit slight injustice even if not aimed at oneself. I didn't see any need for the demeaning comments. Difference between a 3090 and 4090 is huge for both triple monitor setups and VR, with a significant increase at 4k too. You mentioned it'll likely only be noticable for those on a gaming monitor - I'd guess most people with a 3090 aren't running a 60hz screen. I don't have a 4090, I can't afford it. I have a 7900xtx which is significantly cheaper. But I'm still not knocking OP for his so called first world problems. Edited April 17, 20233 yr by Bigbluss
