April 20, 20233 yr Just finished moving halfway across the country and taking 18 months to build a new house. During that time, I turned 80, and I'm hoping that is not my main problem. During that time no P3D v5.3 or RC. Just purchased a new Jetline Systems PC and have gone back to P3d v4.5, as I had no luck installing RC into P3D v5.3. 4.5 is working great and today I tried to install RC. I have installed it and can open rc4X and it opens the green RC box and the encrypt box. It's always has worked before, but when I enter the codes from the encrypt box it looks like a previous box, says it has registered and tells me RC is running. However, when I try to open RC again it just runs me through the same thing. Everything looks as it should in my C drive, except seems like I had a rc4x.exe file I shortcut to open RC. All I can open is the re4x file. As always, I appreciate the help, Mike Nicholson, Windows 11. PS: I don't understand what this insert image from URL is?
April 20, 20233 yr Moderator Mike, if you can post a screenshot of the situation where you can’t proceed that would be helpful. You need to upload a screenshot to a hosting site like Dropbox (free) and then link to it using the URL Link. Try running any executable in admin mode. Right click the file and the option will show. April 21, 20233 yr Author Hello Every One, Well, After reading all the above this morning, I thought I was doing something wrong in attempting to validate my Radar Contact installation. I finally downloaded the Manual and saw how I was merely rerunning the validation request. I had failed to go to my Apps and Open the Radar Contact icon which would also bring up the validation window! Worked like a charm. You would think after 20 to 25 years of running Radar Contact I would have remembered that. Thank goodness for manuals. I thought I was home free. Went through and set all the settings up. Hit the Flight Plan box and got the old Run Time error 713 box. Had that happen around ten years ago, and haven't a clue as to what I did. I need to reinstall the MSSTMSFT.dll file and then register it. I read JD's explanation and am totally confused now. Any further suggestion as to how to handle this would be appreciated. Mike Nicholson

Mike Nicholson Do you have MSSTMSFT somewhere from a previous installation? If not, then you may PM me and I will send you a copy. You might run into some malware if you just download willy-nilly. Registering is quite simple, I will explain. Ian Intel i7 6700K @4.3. 32gb Gskill 3200 RAM. Z170x Gigabyte m/b. 28" LG HD monitor. April 22, 20233 yr Author Ray, I received the msstdfmt.dll file. It was an Adobe file and I couldnot open it. I changed it to a Notepad and it opened fine. I was a little alarmed as it pretty much looked like Greek to me. I then followed IAN,s directions twice. Both times it did not accept the file. I guess I'll wait till Monday and call my IT fellow. April 22, 20233 yr Moderator Mike, JD explains how to register that dll here. It needs placing in two Windows folders and registering in each. You shouldn’t open it with notepad. That achieves nothing. Ray (Cheshire, England).
