May 30, 20233 yr Hey all, I recently upgraded my motherboard and new GPU and now I am getting weird lag spikes at Imaginesim KATL / KAUS. Prior to upgrading Mobo and GPU, I've never seen this. For instance, I will be getting 70+ FPS and then turn in another direction and it will instantly drop to 30 and start lagging like slow motion then go back up, then I will turn in another direction, same thing. It will not stay smooth in any direction. I have reinstalled both sceneries, still issue. Any ideas? System: i9-10850K, RTX 4070, 32 GB DDR4 Ram. My system is obviously more than capable of running these two sceneries and even before upgrade, it was perfectly fine.

I have a feeling some registry things got messed up when the new mobo was installed because all my FSDT / PMDG products required re-activation again which was a pain in the rear, especially FSDT.
May 30, 20233 yr Author Prior to this upgrade, I never had issues with these two sceneries having these weird stuttering issues.
May 30, 20233 yr I would try disabling shader modifications and seeing if that fixes it. I ran into a very similar issue previously and that was the cause. Orman
May 30, 20233 yr Are you running TOGA with ASCA integration also? if so, turn that option off in ENVDir. It was causing me the issue also where I would have to reactivate all of my addons every time I updated a shader/texture in Envdir. Orman
May 30, 20233 yr I could also imagine, if you get new hardware, you wanted to max out all settings in P3D and therefore you get these lags now. So to compare 1:1 you need to have the same settings as on your old system. May 30, 20233 yr Author Dan, I havent changed any settings. Sadly enough, the move from 3060 to 4070 doesnt seem to have much performance increase.

Then it may be one of the ideas from okupton. I got a new system today and also feel like it may be the same still. But i keep my 3090, cause I will not spend that much money again for the 4090 and for sure don't go below that, cause it could turn out the same as you experienced. If you still have the old card, you could maybe return the 4070. My computer store just subtracts 10% for opened packages but that's still better than selling it second hand. Is the new card at least with more VRAM? Did you delete the shader cache after GPU change? Dan I cannot use the old card because it fried through a storm surge and no, it still has 12 GB which i am happy with. Also, how do you delete shader cache?

This gives some lag the first time and you can see, how your plane is rebuilt when you switch to outside view. But after this, it runs fine again. You should do it after every driver update and also with a new gpu. I completely forgot your card got destroyed during a storm.
