Like you Gerold, I have taken this flight many times. It all depends on what route you are advised to use. Depending on the political situation it can take up to 15 hours (happened to me twice. Have travelled on the 747-8 Intercontinental several times with Lufthansa when they introduced them for the first time on the [Chicago<->Frankfurt] route... ~12 hours non-stop is a long flight indeed...in the virtual world...admire your patience ...🙂...My longest RW travel was ~16 hours in a 777 (scheduled duration plus an hour and half of diversion to alternate airport, at the destination...) ...
