June 5, 20233 yr It seems to me the solution to this is blending these together seamlessly, and it also seems to me since they are separate entities at some level programming logic could blend them together so much so that you can't discern this visible METAR layer. You can choke it down attributing this to smog or what have you in big cities, but again it doesn't seem like fusion science is required to blend them seamlessly using wide zone of blending: Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. Aircraft used in MSFS 2024: Fenix A320, Aerosoft CRJ, FBW, WT 787X, I-Fly 737 MAX 8, Citation Longitude.
June 5, 20233 yr Depending on where you are flying this can very well be smog (India, China...). As for blending together they are already doing this, but improvements can always be made. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
June 5, 20233 yr For me and specially after having started to use FSIpanel which automates most of the setup for a rapid positioning of my Fénix A320 or PMDG 737 on downwind, base, short or long final, or even under more fancy (STAR / ARRIVAL) scenarios, it's obvious that at most places the blend still needs attention from ASOBO and can, at times, be rather inconsistent. I use the Search function in FSIPanel to pick problematic airports due to bad weather, specially winds and gusts, and most of the time if positioned on long final or at the FAF for an approach I find the wind there rather weak / tame, and just as I arrive very near to the runway the wind parameters kick in and start to make it rise in intensity and effects like variation and gusts. There should be a much more consistent depiction while I am still, say, 10 NM from the airfield, specially under most of the situations I tested. Sometimes it's not that bad if another airfield with associated METAR lays in the approach segment. This is one of the aspects that I believe products like Active Sky could "do their Magic"...
