It has been quite a while

Featured Replies

It has been a while since I last used my flightim and visited this forum. So, hello everyone, Im back! Good to see there are still quite a few names and avatars I remember. 😊

I havent had time to sim the past years, but lately I managed to free up some time and I was curious about FS2020, so I thought what the  heck, its not a sin to make some time for myself, to do what I like! 😜

I notice that I have to freshen up my knowladge and skills 'a little' (I didnt have a clue what to do in the Skymaster, my vavorite aircraft! I dont even want to think of what's going to happen if I start up a PMDG or the Dash again 🤣), after such a long time and I remembered that when I started simming, back in 2010, I believe, I found a website with flight courses, but for the life of me, I cant remember the name of the course or the website. Ive been googling, but with the increase in interest in FS the past years, the amount of websites is quite overwelming and I havent been able to find it. What I do remember is that it was a very decent video course, in a program that had courses at several levels, from a GA course for new pilots to more advanced courses for GA and airliner (PMDG 737, if im not mistaken), and what might give some people a useful clue, the starting course(s) was done with the Realair Duke! It was quite wellknown, if I remember correctly and I remember purchasing a couple of courses there. Is there anyone who remembers this, around 2010, beginner flightsim video course for FSX, using a Realair Duke?

If anyone remembers this and could help me find this again, would be very much appreciated.

Pilot skills, even if just a computer sim pilot, are perishable skills.  If you do not exercise those skills regularly, you lose them.  With my old computer, I was regularly sim flying piston twins and turbo-props with plenty of IFR and night flying.  When I bought this new computer, after sorting out its issues, upgrading FSX Ultimate Terrain X from version 1 to version 2 and finding that there were a good number of position changes with roads in version 2, so I had to adjust tons of add-on airports, then fixing little issues with those airports, then modifying them to better match the current, real-world configurations of those airports, I ended up with gaps of up to a year between sim flights.  Yeah, my sim skills are bad enough that I have gone back to the C172 to relearn those skills.  I couple of nights ago I tried a night VFR flight in the 172 and got lost when I had to make an orbit of the airport in order to get in line behind an AI aircraft that was on final.
