I have been trying to get this corrected for some time now... ATC and all pilots are one and the same voice.  Using Azure, real-time traffic, Windows 11.  I've tried turning Azure on and off, real-time traffic on and off.  

Always been like that for me. Mildly annoying, I know.

I detect 3 different voices--2 male, 1 female, and always have.  Azure, RTOT, Win 10, FSLTL

It strikes me that there is a huge list of thing that is wrong with ATC... but more concerning is that there seems to also be another large list of really simple things to fix on ATC, things that seem like it would only take minimal effort to fix. Yet, update after update we see no ATC tweaks or improvements.

High on that list is this fact that you have highlighted. Microsoft are creaming themselves over pushing how good Azure AI can be... and yet after years they still haven't got to a situation where they use more than 3 different voices.

My other top three ridiculously easy ATC things to fix are...

1) ATC Pronunciation.... eg why is "4 miles" spoken as if they are saying "for miles"

2) Traffic in sight... at 6 o'clock with 3k altitude difference. Standby whie I open the roof viewing hatch to take a look.

3) ATC not leaving gaps in comms when the radio is busy... and then even chasing for response when you can't get chance to cue the mic

 

Yeah I know there are a lot of serious stuff wrong with ATC... but blimey there are also a lot of quick fixes out there that could atleast show some willing!

This is not the point. Pilots (owncraft or AI) and ATC have the same voice whatever it is.

I dont get it either.. I know voice-to-speech recognition complications has been mentioned.

My own quick fix in the meantime might be to route the entire audio out of the msfs2020 and listen through a couple of sound editors, lol. Maybe distortion and delay, or something..

ATC is in placeholder status is all.  I predict most of these issues will be resolved by or before 2024 release.

Ah, the triumph of hope over experience! 2024 is released and MSFS2020 is …. much the same as it was.
