July 14, 20232 yr Just had a great flight into London, Heathrow (EGLL), and landed at 2:30 pm Eastern time (7:30 pm there). Wow...what an enjoyable and challenging flight. As soon as I crossed the Channel, the weather became interesting. Descending to One Zero Thousand, the clouds were heavy and foreboding. At Five Thousand, the rain was flying past the cockpit and wings furiously. Absolute ZERO visibility landing on 27R. ILS all the way. Fun and beautiful at the same time! Flying V5.4 with Active Sky and Cloud Art. Have all the ORBX sceneries for Europe. Flew a 777 Aeroflot from Domodedovo (UUDD). Even though that flight may not be possible in real life today, I made it because I felt like transversing Europe today. Would love to hear about YOUR fun and challenging flights. Weather always makes it interesting. Stan Edited July 14, 20232 yr by spilok

Glad you enjoyed it Stan. 😁 A fairly vigorous low pressure moved north over the British Isles today. Its effects will continue to be felt for the next 48 hours. All down to the jet stream. The Transition Altitude for most of the UK is no higher than 6,000ft. So that would FL100. I trust you weren’t under control of Heathrow Approach with your altimeter set incorrectly. 😉 Just joking. Enjoy our summer weather. 🌦️ Ray (Cheshire, England). Stan Speaking of Heathrow today - just flew out IRL on the 6pm United flight to Newark, so I've got some pics for you to compare your sim flight to 😅 7800X3D - RTX 5080 - 64GB DDR5 - Dan C4-SFX

Exactly. P3d represented it perfectly. You just have to love this sim! Look at that cloud cover. Thanks for that RL verification. Stan

Stan This is the beauty of our hobby isn't it? Those moments when you forget the world around you and feel, somehow, there. Doesn't matter if is platform A, X, or Z. Hours and hours tweaking software and hardware, doing updates, reading tutorials, cheklists, etc and at the end It's all about the immersion you suddenly feel at that special moment. I feel very sad reading many post and topics of people attacking each other for no valid reason at all because of our hobby. Today's forums seems to emulate our society agressivity with fierce arguments and "inquestionable" facts. But at the end it's all about these special moments. Thanks for sharing yours Stan. Cheers
