Hi All,Please cool it! Opinions are welcomed. If the OP thinks this way and has never posted or e-mailed us for support, then that is his opinion. If, a year from now, he chooses not to upgrade with a significant discount to ASA that is also his choice. No need for attacks either way!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

Certainly are putting a lot of effort into a sim that has so far been pretty much a flop. I honestly just don't think FSX is worth the effort, time and money of two iterations of AS. But that's just me.

Hi Alex,You too have your own opinion about FSX and it is in your every post, fine with that. Now, let me ask: do you have the actual sales of FSX? Nope. How about our HiFi products? Again, nope. Therefore, you have no idea whether or not FSX is worth the effort, time and money, but we do!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

Considering Asx is some of the best money I have spent-I look forward to all the upcoming improvements. I have been upgrading for reasonable fees since the beginning of the 1st version, and each version just gets much better.I believe has already been stated publicly by MS that fsx has been the best selling version of flight sim ever-so even though we may not know the exact sales I think we can put one point of conjecture to bed. Jim knows the other figure-and the new Asx versions seem to imply otherwise here also.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpgForum Moderatornew http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/

Ok, the sales figures are great, but the community that would actually spend $70 on a weather add-on (I bought ASX by the way, love it) hasn't accepted FSX like everyone was hoping. I'm just not going to spend close to $100 on weather add-ons when ASX alone is doing the job fine.

Are you the spokesperson for the "community" or is that your opinion?Just curious.

It's my opinion, but isn't it also pretty obvious why I have that opinion? A year after FSXs release and some of the most highly anticipated add-ons are coming out for FS9. I think that says something about the rocky transition. But because I know exactly where this conversation is going I'm done responding to you before it gets out of hand.

>Maybe you getting a bit too gullible, or is it the>same for all a really excited user? It's the same, and always the same ones. And they can say the same thing about the realists, and it's back and forth, ad infinitum.

Maybe you getting a bit too gullible, or is it the same for all a really excited user?---------------------------------------------Geofa is not only an old-timer around AVSIM, but is one h*ll of an accomplished real-world pilot. He has traversed the U.S. from coast to coast a few times aboard a couple of airframes that I know he has owned and does own to date.I personally didn't like the look of FSX as well as the performance, BUT...I wouldn't call those that absolutely find it satisfying to be labelled as a really excited user.If so, we who did not like this incarnation could be labelled as whatever THEY wish to pin on us. Nobody has so far labelled us as anything from the 'a really excited user' camp. When Geofa and other real-world pilots make comments as to pro or con on items and issues pertaining to ANY M.S. flight sim, you and I would do well to seriously listen. They have the 'real world handle' to offer that is priceless for this hobby of ours and give us this insight for free....Respectively stated,Mitch

Gee-looks like I missed out on the fun while asleep. Thanks for the nice words Mitch! In any case-I thought this thread was about the value of a new and improved Asx-and I certainly am excited about it-and I am sure others in the "community" are also.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpgForum Moderatorhttp://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/

I'm sure the new and improved version will be great......but where does this leave ASX?There is one glaring problem with ASX right now that almost renders it useless - the wind shift issue.I know this is primarily a MS/ACES issue and it seems 'simconnect' is not all it was cracked up to be.However, there seems to be very little communication between customers/Hifi/ACES to let us know exacltly where this windshift problem stands. Hifi blames ACES, ACES don't comment rinse and repeat.Hifi have always come up trumps in the past and I am sure they will do so again with ASX Advanced. I think ASX has turned out to be the first product on a learning curve for the new sim platform.I will be interested to see how ASX Advanced compares with the FEX Environment Simulator. Competition is always a good thing!Glenn

On their webpage one of the improvements they mention that one of the new improvements will be:"New Smoothing techniques Harsh wind shifts and instant visibility/cloud cover transition has been essentially eliminated using new wx control techniques. "It also sounds like integration will be possible with other products.Since I really like the fex clouds-nice if integration will be possible. Here is their website for reading:http://www.hifisim.com/asnext.php?title=ASA%20Detailshttp://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpgForum Moderatorhttp://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/
