August 29, 20232 yr Anyone who has this plane able to comment ? I do have the Flywaresim Lear which is pretty good in itself, but the 40% off option for the Xtreme Prototypes release does sound pretty good, plus it looks like v4 releases are coming. https://www.xtremeprototypes.com/shopexd.asp?id=48 https://www.xtremeprototypes.com/default.asp So a couple of Questions: 1), The Weather Radar. Given the radar options are limited does anyone run Roland's Radar as an embeded unit ? 2), Glass effects. Rain and fogging, are they supported? 3), Hypoxia. If I was to depressurise the cabin at altitude will hypoxia come into play ? The blurb mentions "Crew and passenger oxygen system & Oxygen valves", but is there any consequences built in ? August 29, 20232 yr Can’t answer any of the questions Rogen but the aircraft itself is beautifully done. A *little* tougher on frames but with your system no problemo. At 40 off, a no brainer. 😎
August 29, 20232 yr Moderator @Rogen, I’ve had it for 5 years. Great modelling and the cockpit is extremely detailed. I use Roland’s radar but as a separate window, not embedded in the VC. It’s still very useful given the original developers gave up after v5.1. Hypoxia isn’t supported. I think rain effects are but not fogging. It cruises at FL450 at Mach 0.82. Well worth buying. August 29, 20232 yr I never knew about the plane until Ray mentioned it in a different discussion but I've really been tempted to purchase it myself because it does look beautifully done. I do have the Flysimware Lear 35 and while the flight modelling is fantastic, the VC quality is disappointing. The Xtreme Prototypes plane has a beautiful looking VC with all 3D gauges and the exterior looks great too. I normally don't like to buy multiple aircraft that are so similar to each other but in this case I think I will make an exception.
August 29, 20232 yr Wow I just checked the website and noticed it's on sale for a great price. I'm going to go pick it up right now while the price is right. I may even pick up the X-15 as well 😁

My sentiments exactly. This is one of two reasons why I'm using P3D v4 again (the other reason being Rogen's videos and pictures). I always liked FSW 35A and their Falcon 50. For a time, they were both my go-to planes in P3D. But then, I saw the 40% off sale and I'm glad I changed my mind. So now I just use the Learjet 25D mostly instead of the 35A. There's lots of little things different that you'll notice in Xtreme Prototypes: the way the rotating beacon at the bottom of the plane reflects on the runway, the sounds, the 320+ page manual, the 8-track player, the 4 different panels, the 23 liveries, etc, etc. Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space. Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).

Yeah the Xtreme Prototypes plane really does offer a lot compared to the FSW plane. I did end up buying the Lear 25 though I haven't flown it yet or even loaded it up in the sim. I'm still reading through the massive manual 🤣 I do think I also want to get the separate FMC add-on for the FSW Learjet 35 though. Then it will still give me another unique reason to keep flying it and make it even more different than the Learjet 25. Both planes are good for different reasons and I want to get my money's worth and keep fly them both.
August 30, 20232 yr I bought the AC but after instaling it outside the SIM ,I get an error of a sound dll , I reinstalled without the antivirus but the same, I run win 11 and P3D V5 pro plus....any one installed OK??? Does not have an installer for P3D outside so I added the add_on.xml , P3D detects it OK and appears on the list of AC but as soon as it starts I getthe error ... will try the normal install... Jorge
August 30, 20232 yr UPDATE The AC works OK if installed inside the root P3D , have opened a support request for this problem... Jorge
August 30, 20232 yr Note: This addon is installed using the stand-ard (conventional) FSX method to avoid issues with third-party software components in both Prepar3D and FSX Steam. The addon will not work properly if installed otherwise. Well...my bad ,.....it pays to read the manual....although I think that at this time his AC shoud have a proper modern P3D installer... may be the next V4 will have it ?? Jorge

I'll gve installing to my custom add-ons paths a first try and see what comes of it. Sound and any custom apps are typically a bit of a problem when it comes to add-ons paths, but there is usually a workaround. September 1, 20232 yr Rogen , reply for my support request to Xtreme prototypes.... Hello Jorge, Thank you for contacting us and for your interest in our GLJ Model 25 SE v3 addon for Prepar3D. This is normal. Version 3 needs to be installed in your "C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\SimObjects\Airplanes" folder. See section 2, page 7, of the manual. It cannot be installed in your "C:\Users\...\OneDrive\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons" folder or elsewhere. This is because v3 uses a third-party sound engine for the extra sound effects that cannot be installed in the "...Add-ons" folder or elsewhere (path limitation). ========== FYI: In v3, the third-party sound DLL that is needed to play the extra sounds (such as most cockpit sounds not supported by the simulator) is located in this folder: "C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\SimObjects\Airplanes\XP_Gates_Learjet_25_v3_Classic\panel" The name of the file is: " XPGL25v3_Sound.dll" (it is installed like a gauge with a few extra parameters in the "panel.cfg"). The extra sound effects that are played with the third-party sound DLL are in the folder: "C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\SimObjects\Airplanes\XP_Gates_Learjet_25_v3_Classic\sound\extra". ========== Our upcoming v4 uses our own sound engine and will be distributed as an add-on package to be installed in your "...Add-ons" folder. See section 2 in the manual for the upcoming v4. Hope this helps. Best regards, Alain @ XTREME PROTOTYPES CUSTOMER SUPPORT TEAM
