September 16, 20232 yr Tonight I installed Wingsim's Simon Bolivar scenery in P3D v5.4 and I have two red X's in the scenery. One X is over the parking spot for the first jetway (the one near the control tower) and the other X is just to the right of the terminal over one of the remote parking spots. I have SODE installed and it is activated (I ran the SODE exe file that came with the scenery) and I have GSX installed and activated too. Any idea why I have the red X's?? September 16, 20232 yr Looks like you missed to install the SODE jetways. Sometimes they are in the scenery directory and need to be copied over to c:\programdata\12pilot... by hand. And the scenery does come with a SODE exe installer which I did run.
September 16, 20232 yr Author I sort of got it figured out. I opened up the GSX file and changed the afcad_path = line so that it points to where the SKSM AFCAD is and that got rid of one of the X's but I still have the red X that is over the parking spot for the first jetway. Any ideas what it could be? I don't know much about GSX so I don't know what else to look for to fix that red X.

There must be a directory C:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE\SimObjects\WINGSIM_SKSM with different objects. In the XML directory there should be WINGSIM_SKSM.XML. This should install automaticly, when installing the scenery. There is a xml file in the xml SODE folder and there is a WINGSIM_SKSM folder in the SimObjects folder of SODE.
September 17, 20232 yr Is SODE active? There is a progam to activate SODE. Check if everything is green there. September 17, 20232 yr Then everything should be fine and the objects shown and not an X. Maybe another reinstall of the scenery is needed. Maybe something went wrong before. I saw this X before but never had long to fix this. I remember Ray once had the problem too on a Wingsim scenery I have too. I never got, why he had the X. https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/609591-wingsim-mkjp/page/3/ They had to check the sim.cfg file for proper naming the missing objects. I just checked the sim.cfg file and I did see a lot of entries like this [fltsim.9] title=FAIBA320SPWAVA sim= model=FAIBA320SPWAVA texture=FAIBA320SPWAVA The texture folder (FAIBA320SPWAVA) is there, but there is no model folder. There are about 21 entries like that but with different planes. Perhaps the red X's are missing static aircraft?? If it is missing static aircraft I don't want static aircraft. I just want the X gone.

I just want the X gone. I did not understand this either. I can check later how it looks on my place. If the model is missing, you don't get the object shown. Not sure if this produces the X. Going to the place of the X with a plane and checking in ADE what's there may help. I rather think it is a windsock. Maybe there's a typo in the sim.cfg. I added the sim.cfg from my pc for you to compare or try. But you need a sim restart to make it active. September 18, 20232 yr Author I checked my sim.cfg file with your and it's exactly the same. I tired deleting the aircraft entries in the sim.cfg file, but that didn't make any difference. PS: Just so you know I did email the author of the scenery about my problem, but never heard back from him.
September 18, 20232 yr Trying to help you, i found my WSM SKSM does not show up. The scenery is active but I have all default. There were two add-on.xml files, one at the scenery location and one in Prepar3D v5 Add-ons, what could be the cause for my problem. With default I have an X in the middle of the tarmac. It remains, if I restart GSX, it blinks away a split second if I reload SODE objects. So it's a missing SODE object, definitely. I restarting the sim, hoping to get the scenery showing up again, otherwises i have to reinstall. I got a new computer some months ago and maybe wingsim sceneries are not accepting beeing moved. September 18, 20232 yr This is how it looks on my SKSM Went straight on the X to mark the coordinates Started SODEPlacer, a free tool from SODE to edit the .xml files from SODE. With live preview, you can see the object not working. I had two, static plane which i don't have on my system upon each other. Deleted both, the X are gone after saving, reloading in the sim all SODE objects. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1s-Xv9_Ami6uUo--gu55dGuAnWogwlsnR/view?usp=drive_link Now I don't know, if this is the same X on your place. I uploaded the reworked .xml file. Place it in SODE xml and replace the other. Reload SODE objects in the SIM (Addons, SODE, Reload All) Hope that's a fix for you too otherwise you need to get the SODEPlacer https://sode.12bpilot.ch/?wpdmpro=sode-placer-v0-4 OS=WIN11 Home, Sim=P3D5 5.3 (P3D4 and FSX for install reasons) Addons=ORBX, ASCA, AS, TOGA and tons of sceneries, aircraft MB=Gigabyte AORUS Z790 Elite AX, CPU=i13900K, Cooling=Be quiet! September 18, 20232 yr Author Thank you so very much!! That new xml file did the trick, no more X! (I had a second X where the white DHC-6 plane is in your screenshot, but I fixed that one myself). Without your help I probably would have deleted the scenery.
