Just noticed the other day that I have no road traffic in V6 and have spent the last 2 days trying to repair it.

Now, I'm not 100% sure that I ever had road traffic in V6 but now that I know I don't, it bothers me. 😄

I have tried all the usual 'fixes', rebuilding all the xml's and cfg's, using repair option with the V6 installer, checking the various bgl's etc., but all to no avail.

BTW., my V5.4 had all the road traffic I want..........

Don't really want to go neuclear and do a full unistall/install, so any advice gratefully accepted, cheers.

 

Also, anyone else noticed that V6 seems a lot heavier on resorces with a resulting drop in FPS ?

Have you any other scenery add ons installed?

Those may conflict-also if there not in the right order in the scenery library.

Have you ticked the boxes for all roads and maxed the slider for road traffic?

I also believe it is in some way linked to vegetation autogen so make sure the slider is up for that too.

Don't be afraid to do a repair or failing that a full reinstall of the sim.

Yeah, I read that some where in my research trying to find a solution, but to no avail.

Tried the repair option, which as far as I can see does an overwrite of all files, except the user files which I have already rebuilt.

If you have Orbx Vector in the Orbx library for P3D 5.x, try to install from ...\Orbx Vector\ ORBX\ FTX_VECTOR_P3Dv5 the FTX_VECTOR_CVX folder in P3D v6 - Options - Scenery Library and with Add area the path of the FTX_VECTOR_CVX folder that must be under Africa in the Scenery Library of P3D v6.

If you have it you can also use Lorby AddonOrganizer to install the folder in P3D v6.

 

Do bear in mind that Vector will impact the performance of the map and flight planner

Yep, tried that as well, did zilch, unfortunatly.

Even went as far as installing the full Orbx Vector but still no road traffic anywhere.

Cannot, for the life of me, figure this one out.

Re-installing V6, if it works, doesn't give me the answer to what caused it in the first place.

SOLVED !

I even uninstalled and re-installed V6 but still no road traffic.

Everywhere I read that the relevant BGL is in root/scenery/global/scenery and indeed in there was the 'vehicles_land.bgl' along with the BGLs for airport/water etc..

However when I copied it to root/scenery/world/scenery, voila, road traffic back everywhere !!

I cannot understand how or why a full installation did not fix it and did not install the 'vehicles_land.bgl' in that folder.

 

PS> Just a thought, could someone else please see if they have the 'vehicles_land.bgl' in root/scenery/world/scenery please?

Did you delete all folders after uninstalling?

So do you have the bgl in two locations or just one?

No, as there were a lot of addons and associated files.

Both locations at the moment. But will delete from 'Global' just to see.....

It's probably a scenery add on that borked things up.

It happened for me after installing Ultimate terrain.

I don't

Only one entry in the Scenery/Global/scenery folder.

Grand, thanks for that.

Very strange, I have deleted the BGL in /Global and just left it in /World and traffic works fine.

Reverse the above, results in no traffic.

No idea why, must have something to do with some addon or other.
