Freeware Bell 429 Released

Recommended Posts

The Dev has added PMS gtn integration, and is looking into TDS.  I believe he's also going for stock GNS at some point.

Looks like the flight model needs some work but for this guy's first go it's looks pretty dang good.

This is getting updated frequently...more textures, more model additions, better flight model.

For now I'm converting some of the XP11 default paints

Get this freeware Bell 429 at the jXt discord:  https://discord.gg/J4cKDcvT

Again this isn't my artwork (but I've got one in the pipeline) I've only converted these

I've also done a quick n dirty TDS GTNxi integration.  Not fully working yet but as the helo itself is a beta I'll try to get everything working.  For now you have a working CDI needle and the buttons work on the GTNs themselves.  It's a good start.

I cannot seem to get it from Goole Drive. Is there a daily download limit do you think?   I am logged in but it says view access only, cannot download.  Strange.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Some people are saying that.  Oh yeah I just checked it's down right now.

Yep.  'File no longer available' on discord as well.  Never mind.  I will wait.  This project will get better and better, and I love the look of the 429.

Sure this will be improved, many many hours of fun with the best heli for me in all Flight Sims and in X-Plane 11, till arrived MSFS with theirs.

I couldn´t even take off with the first flight model in the first download, they will solve it sure.

One thing I noticed right off is that for the collective binding, where that works as expected with other helicopters (FlyInside 206, HPG 145), this doesn't have a full range of motion. On my joystick collective axis, I have to move it about 80% of the way before the 429 even gets light on the skids. So effectively you only get about 20% of the controller range.

I hope they'll change that. But I've seen the same thing with the Cowan helicopters and I wonder if it's something to do with adapting a native X-Plane model to the MSFS helo SDK.
