One first shot from my MSFS 2020 on the Xbox...

Featured Replies

Today, unexpectedly and rather excitingly, I got exposed to MSFS 2020, in the Xbox format. My teen who has been playing on PS4 in the past, decided to go for Xbox (with my reluctant permission...🙂 ...), and overnight (apparently without any issue) has installed the gigantic download of the MSFS Premium Edition (knowing my penchant for such stuff). As I caught him tossing and flipping one of the MSFS planes, in the virtual sky, rather uncontrollably...🙂...with limited help from the Xbox Gamepad, I decided to get him a basic (add-on) Flight Controller and taught him (and myself too) how to gently lift off the Runway and climb steadily to Cruise altitude, with an MSFS plane, using its Autopilot (I've picked the Beech Bonanza G36).

I miss my 15 years of dedicated fun with beloved FSX, but that being a thing of the past, this bit of today's experience with MSFS (even though on a TV rather than a PC), seemed exhilarating indeed...! Please find below one screenshot (novice MSFS flyer, here), of my Bonanza, having lifted off my hometown airport (KORD) eastward, and approaching the downtown skyline, over Lake Michigan (a view I've been used to for more than 2 decades).

In my (past) SIMs, I've never seen such details (with just the most basic/default settings used here on the MSFS). I am convinced that the worldwide scenery along with its vibrant greenery and other features, of the various regions (to be explored yet), will be amazing indeed, as everyone has said here. Time permitting, I will slowly explore the world and also learn to fly some of the other (impressive) "59" (stock) a/c included in this (wonderful) MSFS edition. I think, though, that task would be easier than getting my teen off his Xbox War/Combat Videogames...🙂....Oh well...

Please share my excitement of my hometown skyline shot...with the following (first) image...from my MSFS2020.

Cheers, good flying, and good rest of the week...!!

Fine Screenshot P_7878 and have fun with your NEW sim..👍

For shure we can say MSFS is at least for the next 6 to 10 years the future of Flightsimulation in my opinion.

So i think you both not in the wrong way and i hope we see more shots again from your side in the coming time.

To say the Premium Version has a beautiful 787-10 and that seems realy fitting you Name - P_7878, so all the best Sir !

cheers 😉

Thanks for the nice and upbeat words, pmplayer...🙂 ...!

Yes, when I named myself after the 787-8, the 787-10 was still on the drawing board...I believe ....🙂 ...

Agree, the (default) set of planes in the Premium Edition is quite impressive, including the 787-10 and Cessna Longitude, I think ...but, I'm far from flying the 787-10 in MSFS (may bug you for some tips, when the time comes ...🙂 ...)

Its hard to truly appreciate all the static screenshots, us now long-time MSFS'ers, have been posting and blowing up this forum with post statements raving about the visuals in MSFS...until you see it live on your screen at home with your own eyes.

For everywhere I've explored in this vast world with MSFS so far, I never seem to run out of OMG moments...like this one way back in Nov of 2020 when I was exploring the Carolinas in all their beauty.

The Biltmore Estate just blew me way as I circled it the 1st time back then, not believing this was default scenery.

Or one day listening to one of my favorite Eagles songs....decided to see what Winslow, Az looked like in the sim.  I was not disappointed for an obscure place....still hoping some scenery guru places that flat bed Ford that was "Slowing down to take a look at me" 🙂

Or get together with a friend and explore Monument Valley together....

So if you haven't already....start thinking of all the places you've either visited in the past, or wish you had, and go see what they look like from above in your new simulator. 😉
