Hey all,

I recently reinstalled MSFS after a 7 month break.  I've found that the map screen will do anything to reset my starting point to a runway, even when I've set it to a gate.  So it goes something like this;  I set the starting point as a gate.   I change weather or flight plan or the aircraft and when I return to the main map, it's set back to a runway start.   It's driving me nuts!  I have to keep checking at every stage to make sure that it stays on the gate start.  I think (but can't be sure) that it's even put me on the runway a couple of times, when the map page said a gate start, right before I pressed "Fly".

Is anyone else seeing this?   Is there some setting in Assistance or somewhere that it conflicting with the map screen and wanting to always start me from the runway?

FYI... I have just upgraded to SU14 beta (where the issue still exists), but it was also happening with stable SU13.

This has happened to me a few times and is pretty frustrating. I have no idea why it happens.

This bug was introduced in SU12 beta I believe and has not been corrected. 

But there's a simple workaround, the last step to do before hitting the Fly Now button is selecting you departure gate, because every other action like

going to aircraft or weather will reset your departure gate to the default runway.

Yes Michael this is correct, but Bill do not select your gate by clicking on the airport map, but scroll the list of gates and parkings next to the airport name, otherwise, your flight plan might be changed too. This problem has been there for well over one year now.

Thank you Gentlemen.  It's at least good to know the issue is not just a configuration problem at my end.
