November 5, 20232 yr I know these don't have a lot of love generally, but if folks are generally having the problems I'm having, then I'm surprised the 'score' is even as much as 2/5!! I've downloaded two of the models 'Man o' War' and 'Dolly/Spam Can' I boot them up at the end of the runway and all seems fine - engine running; mixture on 'Run'; Prop control fully forward I release the parking brake, and start increasing the throttle...and the engine almost immediately cuts. I can re-start it, and it will idle but any more than 2000 rpm and it dies So, I thought, if I try a Custom Departure where it is already flying, surely that will be OK: No - It spawns at the normal 1500 feet, engine running...and the engine immediately cuts. I've checked the fuel levels, the tank selector and all seems well. I've tried adding a fuel toggle, but no difference. Any ideas? November 5, 20232 yr There were lots of updates to the Mustang and the other Reno packs recently. Have you installed them? They won't install automatically, you have to trigger them from the content manager. It might be that a recent sim update has affected them and these updates are to put it right. Only downloaded them today so assume(d) that they were the latest version but it's worth me checking. Thanks! Just checked and the Content Manager confirms they are up to date and that the pre-requisites are there too. It's baffling. It feels like there's something basic that I've forgotten to do. I wondered, for example, if the fuel cock was off - I can't actually find one in the cockpit so set a rocker switch on my throttle block to toggle it but it made no difference. As I generally use a Honeycomb, I also wondered if there was a residual redundant command in there, but switched to a Thrustmaster on basic settings and it was exactly the same problem. I will go into the sim and check for you. My throttle is set up on my Velocity One flight stick. I have the whole pack, so I will try Man 'o war. EDIT: Just checked. Same as you with Man 'o War. A combination of throttle (MP) or revs shuts it down. Cutting at about 40% throttle as you say, even when pulling revs back to 2000. Must be a bug. I tried Lady B and she was fine. Throttle and Prop right to the wall and no cut. I did my best to make it cut, but it was fine. So seems model specific and a definite bug. Are you on the SU14 beta? I am. November 5, 20232 yr Author That is exceptionally helpful of you, @bobcat999 Many thanks. At least I know I'm not losing my marbles! 🙂 Ryzen 7 9800x3D @5.2GHz; ASUS X670-P Motherboard; nVidia 4080 (factory o/c); 32G 5600MHz DDR5 SDRAM; Pimax Crystal Light VR Headset; Quest 3 VR Headset
November 5, 20232 yr Author Oh, and no - I'm running the standard live version, not the beta. Ryzen 7 9800x3D @5.2GHz; ASUS X670-P Motherboard; nVidia 4080 (factory o/c); 32G 5600MHz DDR5 SDRAM; Pimax Crystal Light VR Headset; Quest 3 VR Headset

I will test all of the livery's tonight and make a report on the official site for those working and those not working properly. It's a shame, as it is a good aircraft for the money. November 6, 20232 yr Author Hi, @bobcat999 I splashed out on a third Reno P-51 this evening - yes, Lady B - and yes, that works just fine. At last! And good fun too 🙂 I will be very interested what your conclusions are with reference to trying the complete set. November 6, 20232 yr This problem showed up in SU13, and hasn't been fixed as of the most recent SU14 beta, although Asobo is aware of it, and thought the SU14 beta had a fix. Specifically, it only affects the P-51's that have the fuselage tank installed and where that tank defaults to 100% full, so the generic P-51 and Goldfinger are the only two fuselage tank equipped Mustangs that don't have the issue.

Thanks for this. Just searched on the Zendesk and, as you say, it was logged some time ago. And apols - I should have checked there first. I've added a vote to the recorded bug and added a comment detailing the specific models I have bought that don't work (Man o' War and Dolly/Spam Can) and the one that does (Lady B). I'm not an ASOBO-knocker - this is a simply superb sim that performs beyond my wildest dreams. But it is disappointing that they have on their Market Place their own developed models that they are happy for folks to pay money for, in the full knowledge that they are presently completely unusable. Thanks for confirming this. I was going to check though all of the models / liveries last night but didn't have the time in the end. I am on SU-14 beta, so no fix included yet unfortunately. Maybe in one of the later betas updates hopefully. They release them about weekly. Edited November 7, 20232 yr by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). December 12, 20232 yr I have only the base P-51. I too was told this would be fixed in SU14. I have updated the Reno package in the content manager. Even if I open the throttle enough to taxi down the runway (revs well in the green) the engine stops. Does this happen to others or am I doing something wrong?

The response to this problem is appalling, as I kind of expect lately. They need to stop adding new features and address some of the bugs, some of which they have created themselves. For more information, look at the post from ndts and AJzip just above. That is about as much information as we have unfortunately. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).
