MSFS installation question

Featured Replies

I bought the msfs premium deluxe via steam. I installed the installer. Now I'm trying to install the sim and I get that title page and the music playing. However, its not showing me an indicator of how much progress my installation is making? Is that normal or did the download hang? On steam it says it is running, but I have no indication if this download is progressing or not and its been over an hour. Is it normal not to be able to see the download progressing?

in  the  background  is  there  another  window  saying  where  you  want  it  to be  installed,  since   when  you  first install  it  it  will  intstall it  in  the  c  drive  and  than  it  should  ask  you  where  you  want  to install  the  base  packages  etc  after  you  run  the  msfs  ioon  again

I downloaded the installer. Then I ran MSFS. It asked me to install the large download. I clicked that. It shows a still screen talking about new activities and it plays the same music over and over. There is nothing else indicating there is an ongoing download, so I don't know if it is frozen or if it is actively downloading. I could just be wasting time for all I know.

so it  asked  you  where  you want  to install it  if  it  did  than  ok  it  takes  a  very long  time  to download  and  install

My question is am I supposed to be seeing a progress bar or something indicating download progress somewhere? I'm not seeing progress indications and just wanted to know if this is normal because typically games have progress bars that display during download to let you know how much of the download has been completed. I have read about the length of the download process so I knew that it will take quite awhile.

For me the progress bar doesn't show when in windowed mode, I always change to full screen and then it shows up.
