Fenix and Throttletek mapping

Featured Replies

I’ve been using the throttletek a320 flight box for a few months and it’s awesome.  I highly recommended it.  The one issue I haven’t figured out is the correct mapping of the start ignition switch.  I can put the ignition to start on the flight box, but in the sim it will flicker on and off and make a clicking sound.  The engine will start but it’s just a little annoying.  I’ve searched but haven’t found any tutorials to map that switch in particular. Anyone else have this issue?  I also had that when using thrusmaster throttle as well. Any tips?

On the TCA this works as following:

"Set"Engine Ign/Start Mode" and "Set Engine Norm Mode" will be assigned to Button 8 (which is the switch in the Ign/Start position).

Then you set the Action Type for "Set Engine Ign/Start Mode" to "On press" and the the one for "Set Engine Norm Mode" to "On Release"

Then you repeat the same for the Crank position (which is probably Button 7). The Mode Norm position does not get assigned anything.

So you basically trick the system by assigning the Norm mode as an "On release" command to the other postions so that Norm mode gets commanded whenever you move out of these positions.

I assume this will work similarly with your flight box.

Just to add to the solution by @Farlis that there's also a problem that if you use the right mouse button to pan around it will cause the same issue - the switch will flicker between norm and ign/start. The work around is to use the middle button to allow panning.

Thanks.  I'll give this a try.

Does this happen no matter what?  Meaning is it a bug?

It's a long-standing 'feature'. I doubt it will be fixed any time soon.
