December 8, 20232 yr [First of all, myself, being on the "closed" Xbox system (and no 3rd-party software except for the PMDG 737NG), I'd thought I was immune to some of the vagaries of MSFS2020...🙂...But, yesterday, with/after the SU14 Update, my (Xbox) MSFS that has performed flawlessly for a few months now, came to a grinding stop...Blue "Progress" Bar stuck forever without reaching completion, the spinning while circle (loading) indicator endlessly spinning forever...🙂...Of course, there is no shortage of advice (on-line) how to fix these issues, but nothing worked for me. Finally, without the mood (or time) for further trial & error...I sought advice from my teen, the Xbox guru (who, with my reluctant permission, un-installed MSFS from Xbox (took 5 secs.) and re-installed it from the MSFS Store overnight (took 5 hrs.). And, today, everything is working for me beautifully again, and probably even better than before...Oh well...] Anyway, Scotland, subject of this post, is a country that has always fascinated me. In my virtual world, I'd spent a significant time exploring Orbx's Scotland in my past SIM. So, I was curious to find out for myself how it looks in the (default) MSFS world. I was not disappointed at all (I hope you'll agree after viewing my images below). Scotland is the most mountainous country in the United Kingdom. But its mountains and hills might look peculiar (and atypical) to the first-time observers (or people like me who are used to forested mountains), primarily because they are severely lacking in trees... (see images below). Nonetheless, these mountains are remarkably beautiful in their own unique way (abundantly interspersed with picturesque lakes, rivers, and bodies of water; see below), attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. So, here we go, as I start off from Glasgow (EGPF), the largest seaport city in Scotland, in its Central Lowlands region, and travel northward, across the spectacular (and magical) Scottish Highlands (partly inspired by the search for the (mythical) Loch Ness Monster...🙂...or at least the Loch Ness Lake itself...the correct Scottish term for "Lake" being "Loch"...; see my shots #9 and #10, for 2 overfly images of this Loch), then, all the way to the northern tip of the Scottish mainland, to the scenic (island) town of Kirkwall (EGPA), where I've touched down on its ILS Runway 09, in the golden glow of the setting sun. Hope you enjoy this collection of 15 pictures, out of Scotland, from my virtual world. Thanks for viewing.

December 9, 20232 yr Beautiful shots. Agree with you about Scotland's lure. Inverness has always been one of my favorite spots to launch a flight from. Now that I've finally 🙂 installed MSFS I'm looking forward to checking that area out anew.

Nice to hear from you...Yes, you are right...the Sky, in my virtual world, has been (magically) set to "clear sky"...🙂...so, I can appreciate this scenery better...This is like seeing clear sky overhead in Chicago area in Winter...e.g., I don't recall seeing the Sun, at all, today...🙂...Cheers...!
