Simbrief/ATC/Fenix

Featured Replies

I heard the default ATC has been improved. I never tried using the default ATC. How do I do so with simbrief? I have to download the brief somewhere? If I'm using the a320 fenix does that impact the process at all?

I'm unsure how well the new ATC does considering the rudimentary phraseology.  I've yet to try it, however, the process won't be any different than before.

Login to SimBrief and create a flight plan.  Download that flight plan as a .PLN file.  In the world map, select the option on the bottom to load a flight plan file (PLN).  It should import the waypoints and altitude, then use that data to steer you accordingly.  It won't matter if the plane is the Fenix, a default 787, or a Cessna.  When ATC gives you an instruction to climb, turn descend, or whatever, you will do it, much like the real world.  It should give you a tiny bit more leeway to follow the SID/DP and fly the STAR with a proper approach to an IAF or FAF.

If you have the navigraph ingame panel installed, there is no need to import the flightplan in the worldmap.

only select departure airport and gate. When in the plane, open the navigraph panel and import the simbrief plan. Add missing parts and under options there is a possibility to export the plan to MSFS ATC. Works for me every time and more reliable then the worldmap

Great suggestion...navigraph ingame panel is only available for navigraph charts users? I have a navigraph/simbrief account but without subscription for the charts

Thanks

I don't know man.  I just used ATC to try and give me IFR clearance into PDX.  They had me descend to 5400 feet before SHAFR, which on the approach plate is 6700.  I got a 500 foot alert.  Then I was told to climb to 5700 before finally being cleared to descend to the appropriate altitudes.  Visibility was poor and I wouldn't trust it.  Seems like the same ole FS9/FSX ATC.

I didn't know this.  I really don't use the in-game Navigraph window much.  I'll have to see how this works.  But if it acts like it did for my flight I mentioned above into KPDX, then it's a hard pass. 😑
