Thanks for your help Rogen much appreciated. the next thing I may try in getting the Milviz weather radar working this time. I do appreciate your hard work in fixing this plane to make it work much better. I brought this from Milviz many moons ago along with the expansion pack. Now I got it free and better. Thanks Thanks John Hi John, Happy to hear you've resolved your engine sounds issues. Swapping radar units is really a quite simple operation (once you've the latest wx dll as previously described), you just need a text editor e.g. I use NotePad++ which is a free and advanced text editor, that said I can see how it would be daunting for those unfamiliar with editing config files, but all you need to do is make a copy of the panel.cfg file prior to editing, then if things get out of hand the original can be copied back into place. Plus Notepad++ allows multiple text files to be opened (panel.cfg files are just text files), meaning both the original and the file being edited can be opened in the one instance of Notepad++ so both can be viewed. Editing would be the panel.cfg file in the panel folders with names ending in _WX e.g. a folder named "panel.GNS750_WX" (there are 7 of these folders located in \SimObjects\Airplanes\DHC-2 Beaver Milviz\), where by edit I mean comment out the Roland radar entry and uncomment the Milviz entry, noting a commented entry is a line having 2 forward slashes at the front of the line e.g. //this is a commented line, easy to add and easy to reverse, easy to recover from. The above aside, there actually might be a option for yourself to contribute directly to these community updates. You mention you bought the Milviz DHC2 & expansion pack many moons ago ? An item missing is a STOL wing model for the cropduster, where in the Milviz supplied freebee installers there were textures to suit a STOL wing cropduster as well as a thumbnail pic showing a STOL wing, however the cropduster model itself did not actually support the use of those STOL wing textures. Given there was a pic showing the STOL wing along with including STOL wing textures, I surmise some dev @ Milviz copied incorrect models for distribution and that earlier version releases might contain a suitable STOL wing model. Of course it could also be the STOL related items were the mistake, perhaps you can assist in confirming ? Let me know if you can assist in this regard, you can email me directly if you like. Hey Folks, We have reviewed earlier packages of the Milviz DHC2 and no joy on the Cropduster STOL model 😒 It looks like Milviz attempted to merge their std. and expansion packages at some stage, where in the process they ended up with quite the mess which they never resolved. So if a STOL wing model of the Cropduster does exist, it is likely on some obscure Milviz dev's local harddrive, that is if it exists at all. Such is life.
