Two of the same pedals, Windows 11 is it possible?

Featured Replies

Can I hook up two of the same pedals (logitech) and use them independently and not at the same time? Will windows 11 allow this or will it be confused and there will be issues? My fall back plan, since I will never use them both at the same time is to simply just use the same USB port to plug in whichever one I want to use for that flight but would rather just keep them both plugged in all the time.

Many thanks to any and all help.

Hi Ident,

I cannot tell you wether W11 will allow it or not, but I can tell you what I did in a comparable situation more then 10 years ago in my FS9 setup (on WXP) with a separate captain seat and FO seat. I used 2 USB switches, one for the yokes and one for the pedals. BUT be aware that you cannot use the standard USB switch that for example connects one printer to 2 PC's, you need one that connect two devices to 1 PC.
Therefore you need a USB switch with 1x USB B female en 2x USB A female connectors, see for example :

See you, Jan

There's no problem connecting multiple controllers at the same time.  Windows treats each as an independent HID device.  Just make sure that they're properly calibrated with enough of a center dead zone that any unused controller isn't sending spurious noise inputs to the sim.  As long as the values don't change when unused, the controller won't interfere--Windows only sends an input from the controller when an axis value or button state changes.

Speaking of which, if anyone only has one set of pedals, but wants to add a rudder input to a slider axis on a controller, just make the slider another rudder axis in settings and give it a little bit of dead zone. And use that as a rudder trim. Such as on small plane that has no rudder trim control nor an easy to use autopilot. The slider can be a dandy trim if it has a center detent.

So it can act as a primitive autopilot that keeps you on a steady course. Because it's a trim, set the two sensitivities for that one axis to very high negative numbers, for instance -95 and -95. That way, moving the trim slider a long way gets you just a little bit of very precise trim. Keeps the plane flying very straight in the wind with hands off yoke as you tune the radios or whatever.

Your pedals remaining at your normal sensitivity and responding very much more quickly just like they always did. Only your slider rudder axis (which you are using as a trim) is set way down in sensitivity to ridiculous numbers. I use -95, -95.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Got the pedals on order and it looks like I have a few good options to get it working thanks to everyone's input.
