They said it’s not vatsim ready yet. Looks pretty flyable on that video but I am guessing they haven’t fully implemented the Direct to waypoint and/or the hold features yet, both of which would be needed to make it vatsim ready.

In that sense not even the FBW A320N is fully Vatsim ready. Because it still does not have missed approaches. If you expect people to fly those by hand from the charts, you might as well expect them to fly holds without autopilot as well. 😉

What does "Vatsim-ready" mean at all? And when has this become a hallmark for addon aircraft? Is "Vatsim-ready" the new "study-level"?

If a pilot/simmer is not able to fly a holding or a direct by using the autopilot in selected HDG mode, who is not "Vatsim-ready? The pilot or the aircraft?

In other words: Release it! 😉

The A320N started off as the default ASOBO aircraft then moved to its own model, so to speak.  It was available from the start and the users just downloaded the updates as they made them available.

The A380 was started from scratch thus it is not available yet.  When they started the A380 they also shifted primary development from the 320 to the 380 for the most part, with a few updates here and there.  Hopefully I condensed that down enough.

It's kind of confusing if you haven't been following the project from the start.

Haha, yeah.  What FBW calls "alpha" some payware devs call a complete product.  I think the goal posts keep moving out.  Good on them.  Realistically, by the time we get it, it will be fairly "feature rich"

Really? Fly a holding in HDG mode? Have fun with figuring out the leg lenght and the turns for 20 minutes non-stop 😄

Not too difficult.

If on VATSIM and full details of the hold aren't provided, ask the controller the length of the leg (distance or time) and follow the rest of the procedure as specified in the charts.

A clock and DME will help you do the rest.

I'm not saying it's *impossible*. I'm just saying I'm not doing this for 20 minutes on a crowded Vatsim event (which is where you get holdings), no way.
