Fine shots buddy! 😉

Great shots PM 🙂, this plane is really a showpiece. Is there an autostart option or do you have to go through the startup procedure for the 4 engines every time?

Hello Andreas,

With the DC-6, you can choose to fly with an AFE (I think it stands for artificial Flight Engineer)...the AFE can take care of much of the pre-start/start-up. (If I recall correctly, you still have to switch the fuel levers and magnetos before the AFE can do his thing.)

One of the joys of this aircraft is learning to manage those 4 radials without the AFE...and making sure to extend engine life as long as possible. Following the correct start-up procedure is part of the thrill of this aircraft.  🙂

On the EFB ( i belive first page, if not look on the other pages ) you have three saved panel states you can choose to load - so no, you have not go always through the whole startup procedure..

cheers 😉

Hi Rob, of course you are right, it's always an interesting task to perform the entire startup-procedure in such an aircraft, I have a few.

But I certainly do not want to do this every time before takeoff. So for me an option for an autostart is mandatory, otherwise it's a bad addon for me.

And the task to extend lifetime of the engines/plane over time is not for me at all. A2A did this since long time, does not interest me at all, I have too much aircraft.

Cheers

Andreas
